Lisa Doherty Executive Service Manager

Meet the team at Hammond Park

At our service, we prioritise having a calm, respectful and collaborative approach to children’s learning. We truly see children as capable, and this is reflected in our environments, our language, and the trust we place in their ideas. Our educators work collaboratively, reflect regularly and stay aligned in their practice, which creates a consistent and nurturing experience for families and children.

Here from our leadership team

Hi, I’m Lisa, the Executive Service Manager at Nido Hammond Park. I have worked in early childhood for more than 15 years. I am passionate about creating learning environments that feel calm, intentional, and meaningful. I believe deeply in child-led learning, responsive teaching, and the idea that every child brings their own wisdom and identity with them.

Hi I’m Tara- Lee, the Curriculum Leader and Early Childhood Teacher at Nido Hammond Park. I have been working with children for 10 years now and I absolutely love being able to teach children the ways of the world and I take joy in seeing their faces light up when they figure things out in their world. ‘

Hi, I’m Skye James, the Family Advocate at Nido Hammond Park. My favourite activity to enjoy with our children is sensory explorations and messy play. I also love the idea of “100 Languages” as it provides children with diverse ways to express themselves, share their thoughts, and explore their understanding of the world.

Why families choose Nido Hammond Park

Every Day Matters

At Nido Hammond Park, we are dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood education and care that honours the rights, dignity, and individuality of every child.

  • We believe children are capable, curious learners who co-construct knowledge through relationships and meaningful experiences.
  • Our educators are nurturing, reflective professionals who bring diverse strengths to a shared vision of hands-on, inquiry-based learning.
  • Children’s wellbeing, safety, and identity are central to our approach. We build secure, respectful relationships that support emotional development, self-expression, and independence.
  • Our inclusive, culturally safe environments encourage resilience, problem-solving, and full participation regardless of background or ability.
  • We are proud to operate on Whadjuk land and acknowledge the traditional custodian’s past, present, and emerging. We value families as children’s first teachers and foster strong, respectful partnerships built on open communication and collaboration.

Child-led Learning

  • Engaging learning programs are child-led, inspired by the Reggio-Emilia philosophy and facilitated by a dedicated Curriculum Leader.
  • Our teams are made up of passionate, sector leading degree qualified teachers, with all Educators diploma-qualified or holding a Cert III.
  • Our unique curriculum is co-designed with families, experts and educators and builds upon the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) to balance literacy, numeracy, creativity, health and confidence.
  • In our STEM programs, we use loose part construction, water and sand play and gardening to encourage problem solving.
  • Social-emotional learning is supported through emotion coaching, small group conversations, turn-taking games and rich dramatic play.
  • Environmental learning happens through caring for plants, recycling and re-using materials, spending mindful time outdoors, curiosity and respect for the natural world.

Visits from our local high school and Daycare Dental

Excursions in the local community and incursions at our early school bring extra excitement and highlight children’s interests.

We partner with our local high school, where Year 10 visits weekly engage in play, reading, gardening and group experiences with the children.

We have regular visits from daycare dental to support children’s understanding of oral health.

Safety Every Day

At Nido, safety is part of every day. We follow national child-safe standards with strong leadership, rigorous recruitment, and ongoing training for everyone in our early schools. Our spaces are designed for clear supervision, and our policies are regularly reviewed to maintain the highest standards. Nothing matters more than creating safe and secure environments where children feel confident, and families place their full trust in our care.

Our Community

Community is at the heart of Nido. Every day, we nurture strong connections between families, educators, children and the wider community. Through inclusive events, regular updates and hands-on experiences – from community gardens to visits from special guests, every child feels confident, included and inspired to learn.

At Nido Hammond Park, we are committed to creating a supportive community that nurtures each child’s growth, wellbeing, and lifelong learning. From local high school visits to connections with our local community, we strive to strengthen each child’s sense of belonging.

Changes to the Child Care Subsidy

The 3 Day Guarantee. What does it mean for your family enrolling in 2026?

From 5 January 2026, the Australian Government is updating the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) to guarantee at least 3 days of subsidised early childhood education and care per week. This means that all CCS-eligible families will receive at least 72 hours per fortnight (3 days/week) of subsidised childcare regardless of their work, study, or volunteering status.

Since Nido Early School is a government approved childcare provider, if you are eligible for CCS you will be entitled to the new 3 Day Child Care Subsidy Guarantee on your fees.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land, waters, and skies where we work and live across Australia. We pay our respect to Elders past and present. We celebrate the stories, culture, and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders of all communities, who work and live on this land.
