Community – a classroom without walls

At Nido, we really encourage our children to get involved in our local communities. For children, experiencing a sense of belonging and understanding that they are part of a community, is an enriching experience. This connectiveness and social interaction also teaches collaboration, diversity and empathy.

At Nido, we get involved though:

  • Local excursions to get to know our community
  • Visits to Nido by community members
  • Getting involved in community fundraisers
  • Holding events for the community at our Early Schools
  • Incorporating the culture, values and languages of all our differing families
  • Embedding Indigenous culture into our programs
