What can families expect from Nido Early School?
At every Nido Early School, we make six commitments in how we care for children, support their learning and work with families and communities.
1. Every child’s safety is paramount.
This means the safety, rights, and best interests of every child are the first and primary consideration in all our decisions, actions, and practices. In line with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), Article 3(1), Nido upholds the principle that children’s wellbeing and protection prevail over all other considerations, including the interests of business, staff, or operational priorities.
We regularly review safety practices and continue to invest in training, governance and compliance. This includes ongoing safeguarding education including a yearly Child Safe Roadshow, regular internal and external compliance and quality reviews, rigorous recruitment practices and ongoing enhancements to our service environments designed for clear supervision.
2. Every child’s voice and rights are respected.
We actively seek children’s input on decisions that affect them, from ideas for learning experiences and classroom resources to suggestions about meals and environments. Children’s voices help shape the direction of each service, fostering confidence, agency, and showing respect for children’s views.
3. Every child belongs and helps shape the community.
We nurture a strong sense of connection, responsibility and respect, by encouraging children to contribute in meaningful ways to their school community and wider community. Through everyday routines such as ‘packing away’ children develop a sense of responsibility within the service. Connections with local people, places and organisations help children understand their wider community, their place within it and the difference they can make. From this, children develop a sense of belonging and become confident, caring citizens.
4. Every child is a curious and capable learner with a hundred languages
Children from six weeks and beyond possess the skills for expressing ideas, creativity, emotions and understanding of the world around them. We see every child as having rich potential and this belief shapes how we deliver early learning and care every day.
Our educators take the time to listen, observe, and understand each child, using this insight to guide their learning and inspire curiosity, encourage deeper thinking, and support them to thrive.
We also recognise families as a child’s first and most important teachers. By building strong partnerships with families, we gain a deeper understanding of each child and can support their unique learning journey together.

Guided by a strong, evidence-based curriculum, our educators weave literacy, numeracy, creativity, and problem-solving into experiences that reflect children’s interests and natural curiosity. This creates meaningful, engaging learning opportunities that nurture confidence, a love of learning, while helping children develop the skills and capabilities they need for a successful transition to school and beyond.

Our early schools are carefully designed around the way young children learn, play and spend their day. Purpose-built for early learning, there are places to crawl, climb, create, play together, curl up somewhere quiet and explore outdoors, with every space and material chosen with care. Our schools feature inviting central piazzas that bring children together for connection, collaboration and community, alongside inspiring atelier studios where creativity can continue without interruption. These environments encourage children to explore, imagine, create and grow, while feeling safe, capable and deeply connected.
