What We offer
Meet the Centre Manager
Welcome to Nido Early School Alkimos. My name is Emily Jones, Executive Service Manager. Our team is here to support your family every step of the way. At our Alkimos childcare centre, we’ve created a warm and welcoming space where children feel safe to be themselves, build relationships and discover new ideas. We’d love to invite you in to experience it for yourself.
Learning programs
Children at our Alkimos early learning centre are encouraged to explore, ask questions and express themselves in their own time and in their own way. Our programs are inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which values curiosity, collaboration and hands-on learning guided by each child’s interests.
We follow the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and meet the National Quality Standard. These frameworks help us shape learning experiences that nurture confidence, communication and a strong foundation for school and beyond.
Each Nido Early School has a Curriculum Leader who works closely with educators to ensure every child is supported in their development. From language and social skills to early literacy and problem-solving, the learning that happens here is rich and varied.
If your child has specific needs, our Alkimos childcare centre will create an individual support plan in partnership with you. We take the time to understand every child’s story and make sure they feel seen, included and safe.
A day at Nido Early School Alkimos
At our Alkimos early learning school, children follow a familiar rhythm that offers just the right balance of structure and freedom. Mornings begin with a warm welcome from educators and gentle activities that help children feel calm and ready to start the day.
-
Learning through play and discovery
Learning happens through play, conversation and exploration. Children might be painting, working in small groups, exploring new words, listening to music or discovering nature outside. There are plenty of opportunities to try new things and follow their own interests.
-
Nourishing meals and healthy routines
Meals are served throughout the day and are freshly prepared on-site. Each menu is planned to meet individual dietary and cultural needs, with no added processed sugars. Children are also supported through everyday care routines everyday care routines like rest, handwashing and sunscreen, building healthy habits over time.
-
Belonging, culture and community
Connection is at the heart of everything we do at our Alkimos daycare. Whether we’re celebrating cultural events, enjoying music and movement together or spending time in the Atelier or Piazza, each day is filled with moments that help children feel part of a community.
-
Building confidence for school and beyond
For older children, we gently introduce more structured activities to help prepare them for school. This might include group work, early literacy and numeracy experiences, or simply learning to manage their belongings and take turns.
-
A calm ending to the day
The day winds down with quiet time. Families receive updates on what their child enjoyed, discovered or achieved that day.
