In Short:

Nido Early School is now open in Clyde North, Victoria. This purpose‑built service is designed to nurture belonging, curiosity, and strong connections with families. Supported by an experienced leadership team and dedicated, qualified educators, the school delivers high‑quality, child‑led learning for children aged 6 weeks to school age in a welcoming, inclusive environment.

Located just minutes from Ramlegh Reserve and Tulliallan Primary School is our new, purpose-built early school at Clyde North.

“Our vision is to create a place where children feel a deep sense of belonging, where curiosity is nurtured, and where families are supported from the very beginning of their child’s learning journey,” says Executive Service Manager, Gaya Bandara. “We’re not just building a school – we’re hoping to make a meaningful contribution to the Clyde North community.”

The People Who Make Every Day Matter

At the heart of Nido Early School Clyde North is our leadership team, including:

  • Executive Service Manager, Gaya Bandara, who brings 16 years of experience in early childhood education, including more than five years in leadership roles. Her journey from educator to educational leader reflects her deep commitment to quality care and inclusive learning. Her leadership is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and a belief that every child deserves to feel valued and supported.
  • Family Advocate, Imara Chandrasena, who is the welcoming face of Nido Early School Clyde North. Imara is the first point of contact for families, guiding them through enrolment, answering questions, and ensuring that communication flows smoothly. Her warm, approachable nature helps families feel instantly at ease, making the transition into early learning a positive experience for both children and parents.
  • Curriculum leader, Piumi Perera, who oversees the early school’s learning programs and supports educators in delivering meaningful, child-led learning every day for all ages. Piumi is VIT qualified, ensuring that the highest standards of teaching are met. In addition to shaping the curriculum, Piumi is passionate about mentoring fellow educators – guiding and empowering them to grow professionally and deliver high-quality, responsive learning experiences.

This leadership team is supported by a qualified Early Childhood Teacher (ECT), two experienced Lead Educators, and a group of committed Educators who bring warmth and professionalism to each learning environment. All educators hold either a diploma or certificate III in early childhood education.

“Educators work alongside children to co-create their learning journey, encouraging exploration and celebrating each milestone. We support the children to build not only knowledge and skills – but also confidence to form friendships, and forge meaningful connections with their community,” says Gaya.
