Meet the team at Yallambie

At Nido Early School Yallambie, our team is made up of experienced and passionate educators who are committed to creating a warm, supportive, and high-quality environment for children and families.

Our leadership team brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. Our ESM has over 25 years in the early childhood sector, providing strong guidance, mentorship, and a clear vision for the service. Our Family Advocate has over 7 years’ experience working closely with families, and as a parent herself, she brings a genuine understanding of family needs. She is also actively involved in the local community through a sports committee, which helps strengthen our community connections.

We are also proud to introduce Kylie, our Curriculum Leader, who supports the team in planning and implementing engaging, meaningful learning programs. She works closely with educators to ensure practices are reflective, inclusive, and aligned with children’s interests and development.

As a team, what’s important to us is building strong relationships, supporting each other, and maintaining open communication. We contribute to a positive service culture by being respectful, collaborative, and focused on continuous improvement. This creates a welcoming environment where both children and families feel valued and supported.

Why families choose Nido Yallambie

Every Day Matters at Nido Yallambie

At Nido Early School Yallambie, Everyday Matters. We believe that all children, all families, and all educators matter, every day.

Our philosophy is a living document that is shaped and strengthened through the ongoing voices, experiences, and contributions of children, families, and educators, reflecting our shared values, beliefs, and aspirations.

Families tell us they value a place where their children feel safe, known, and confident to be themselves, and children show us—through their words, actions, and play—that they thrive when their ideas are listened to and respected. These voices guide our daily practices, decision-making, and learning environments.

We believe deeply in the potential of every child and the importance of creating an environment that supports active exploration, creativity, relationships, and collaboration.

Child-led Learning

  • Engaging learning programs are child-led, inspired by the Reggio-Emilia philosophy and facilitated by a dedicated Curriculum Leader.
  • Our teams are made up of passionate, sector leading degree qualified teachers, with all Educators diploma-qualified or holding a Cert III.
  • Our unique curriculum is co-designed with families, experts and educators and builds upon the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) to balance literacy, numeracy, creativity, health and confidence.
  • One of our special programs includes visits with a local aged care service, where children build relationships with older members of the community. These experiences support empathy, communication skills, and a sense of connection across generations.

Getting out in the community

At Nido Early School Yallambie, we offer a range of regular excursions and incursions that support children’s learning and development in meaningful, hands-on ways.

We run a monthly Bush Kinder program, giving children the opportunity to explore the natural environment, build confidence, and develop a connection with nature. This experience supports risk-taking, problem-solving, and physical development in a real-world setting.

Within the service, we provide regular incursions such as music and sports sessions, which help children develop coordination, creativity, and teamwork skills and this provides families extra family time on the weekends. We also include cooking experiences, where children are involved in preparing simple meals or snacks, supporting independence, healthy habits, and practical life skills.

These experiences are planned to align with children’s interests and the learning program, ensuring they are engaging, purposeful, and support a broad range of developmental outcomes.

Safety Every Day

At Nido, safety is part of every day. We follow national child-safe standards with strong leadership, rigorous recruitment, and ongoing training for everyone in our early schools. Our spaces are designed for clear supervision, and our policies are regularly reviewed to maintain the highest standards. Nothing matters more than creating safe and secure environments where children feel confident, and families place their full trust in our care.

Our Yallambie Community

At Nido Early School Yallambie, we build strong connections with our local community by creating meaningful opportunities for children and families to engage beyond the service. We regularly incorporate community experiences into our program, including incursions and excursions that help children learn about the world around them.

We develop partnerships with local organisations, services, and cultural groups to enrich children’s learning and support a sense of belonging. This includes connecting with local schools to support smooth transitions, as well as engaging with community services and professionals when needed.

We also acknowledge and celebrate community events, such as National Reconciliation Week, to build children’s understanding of culture, diversity, and inclusion.

Families are encouraged to share their own backgrounds, experiences, and skills, which helps strengthen our community connections and creates a more inclusive environment.

Overall, our approach is about building respectful, ongoing relationships with our community and using these connections to support children’s learning, wellbeing, and sense of identity.

Changes to the Child Care Subsidy

The 3 Day Guarantee. What does it mean for your family enrolling in 2026?

From 5 January 2026, the Australian Government is updating the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) to guarantee at least 3 days of subsidised early childhood education and care per week. This means that all CCS-eligible families will receive at least 72 hours per fortnight (3 days/week) of subsidised childcare regardless of their work, study, or volunteering status.

Since Nido Early School is a government approved childcare provider, if you are eligible for CCS you will be entitled to the new 3 Day Child Care Subsidy Guarantee on your fees.
