Nido Early School Westmeadows
Stepping into Nido Westmeadows Early School, you’ll discover a nurturing and warm environment. Our unique approach to early education and learning, inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, supports children from six weeks to school age. Our Westmeadows childcare centre offers fantastic opportunities for creativity, exploration, and growth, and also places importance on beautifully designed indoor spaces and unique atelier art workshops. As a government approved childcare provider, eligible families can receive Child Care Subsidy (CCS) support. From January 2026, this guarantees 3 days of subsidised care. Meet the team at Westmeadows
Hi, I’m Jodie Donaldson, the Executive Service Manager at Nido Westmeadows. At our service, we focus on building strong, trusting relationships, supporting social-emotional development, and fostering independence. Do the teachers work as a team? Why is this important?
“Because they help and do important training.” -Vera (Kinder 2)
How do your teachers make you feel safe and happy?
“Go outside, and play with water, water is safe with me” – Delilah (Kinder 1)
How do you feel when your family comes into Nido and joins in our activities?

What to expect at Nido
Child-led Learning
- Engaging learning programs are child-led, inspired by the Reggio-Emilia philosophy and facilitated by a dedicated Curriculum Leader.
- Our teams are made up of passionate, sector leading degree qualified teachers, with all Educators diploma-qualified or holding a Cert III.
- Our unique curriculum is co-designed with families, experts and educators and builds upon the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) to balance literacy, numeracy, creativity, health and confidence.
- For STEM, we use loose part construction, water and sand play and gardening to encourage problem-solving, measuring, predicting and exploring how things work
- Social-emotional learning is supported through emotion coaching, small group conversations, turn-taking games, and rich dramatic play where children can practice empathy and perspective-taking.
- Environmental learning happens through caring for plants, recycling and re-using materials, and spending mindful time outdoors, helping children develop curiosity and respect for the natural world.

At Nido, safety is part of every day. We follow national child-safe standards with strong leadership, rigorous recruitment, and ongoing training for everyone in our early schools. Changes to the Child Care Subsidy
The 3 Day Guarantee. What does it mean for your family enrolling in 2026?From 5 January 2026, the Australian Government is updating the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) to guarantee at least 3 days of subsidised early childhood education and care per week. This means that all CCS-eligible families will receive at least 72 hours per fortnight (3 days/week) of subsidised childcare regardless of their work, study, or volunteering status.
