Child-led Learning

• Engaging learning programs are child-led, inspired by the Reggio-Emilia philosophy and facilitated by a dedicated Curriculum Leader.
• Our teams are made up of passionate, sector leading degree qualified teachers, with all Educators diploma-qualified or holding a Cert III.
• Our unique curriculum is co-designed with families, experts and educators and builds upon the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) to balance literacy, numeracy, creativity, health and confidence.
• Each classroom follows an inquiry-based learning approach, with experiences designed around children’s interests, ideas and curiosities.
• Loose parts and natural materials are embedded throughout everyday learning experiences, encouraging creativity, exploration, and problem-solving.
• We run a Children’s Council that provides opportunities for children to share their ideas and contribute to decisions about their safety, wellbeing and rights.

Beyond the Classroom at Kingsbury

At Nido Kingsbury, we provide diverse learning experiences through incursions and excursions. These include:

• Regular visits with residents at Arcare Aged Care Reservoir, fostering meaningful connections and shared experiences.
• Community walks and excursions within the local area, including visits to Woolworths at Polaris Shopping Centre.
• Partnerships with organisations including Darebin Council, Future Proof Early Intervention and the Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Inc. (VAEAI).
• Music and movement programs including Happy Feet, Little Heroes and STARZ, encouraging confidence, creativity, coordination and active participation.
