Child-led Learning

• Engaging learning programs are child-led, inspired by the Reggio-Emilia philosophy and facilitated by a dedicated Curriculum Leader.
• Our teams are made up of passionate, sector leading degree qualified teachers, with all Educators diploma-qualified or holding a Cert III.
• Our unique curriculum is co-designed with families, experts and educators and builds upon the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) to balance literacy, numeracy, creativity, health and confidence.
• STEM learning is embedded throughout our curriculum through investigations, experiments, construction projects, and opportunities to explore natural and recycled materials.
• Social and emotional development is supported through mindfulness experiences, storytelling, emotional literacy, and collaborative projects.
• Sustainability is embedded into everyday learning through recycling, composting, gardening, and environmental projects.
• Cultural learning and reconciliation are explored through experiences that foster respect, inclusion, and connection to community.

Connecting with our Community

Children regularly participate in experiences that strengthen their connection to the wider community and the world around them. These include:

• Regular visits to Tingira Hills Care Community provide meaningful intergenerational experiences.
• Local excursions and nature walks encourage children to explore their environment.
• Community members and organisations regularly visit the service, providing opportunities for children to engage with new perspectives, experiences and learning opportunities.
• Participation in community initiatives, sustainability projects, and cultural events helps children develop an understanding of their role as active and responsible community members.

Safety Every Day

At Nido, safety is part of every day. We follow national child-safe standards with strong leadership, rigorous recruitment, and ongoing training for everyone in our early schools. Our spaces are designed for clear supervision, and our policies are regularly reviewed to maintain the highest standards. Nothing matters more than creating safe and secure environments where children feel confident, and families place their full trust in our care.

Our Community

Community is at the heart of Nido Mount Hutton. Through meaningful partnerships with families, local organisations, businesses and community groups, children develop a strong sense of belonging and connection to the world around them. Our partnerships include Tingira Hills Care Community, Bakers Delight, The Nappy Collective, local schools and community initiatives. These experiences enrich children’s learning and wellbeing while creating opportunities for empathy, social responsibility and community engagement.
