Stop and Smell the Roses

Description:

Our Nido Early School Templestowe Curriculum Leader, Marjone Zeeman encourages you to:

Dress appropriately for the weather and go outside! This activity can be done in your backyard or on your daily walk. While outside, slow down, breathe in the fresh air, and notice the natural life around you. Try to spot the insects busily working, birds singing, and the patterns you can see in the shadows and light.

Promote learning by:

Talking to your child about what you can see, hear, and smell while outside. Can you identify birds by their call? Can you have a closer look at the busy bugs? Can you see your own shadow? Can you make your shadow move/dance?

This will help your child to understand that we can use our senses to process information and learn more about the world around us.
