Nido Early School Black Forest Selected for Flying Start
In Short:

Four additional Nido Early Schools have been selected to deliver the South Australian government-approved Flying Start preschool program. The Hon. Peter Malinauskas MP, Premier of South Australia, The Hon. Lucy Hood MP, Minister for Education, Training and Skills, and Jayne Stinson MP, Member for Badcoe, along with Kim Little, Chief Executive of the Office for Early Childhood Development attended Nido Black Forest where they announced the inclusion.

We had the honour of hosting The Hon. Peter Malinauskas MP, Premier of South Australia, The Hon. Lucy Hood MP, Minister for Education, Training and Skills, and Jayne Stinson MP, Member for Badcoe, along with Kim Little, Chief Executive of the Office for Early Childhood Development, for the announcement of the Flying Start three-year-old preschool mid-year intake.

We’re excited to have an additional four Nido Early Schools selected to deliver the government-approved Flying Start preschool program, bringing the majority of Nido’s South Australian services into the partnership.

Kindergarten is an important milestone in a child’s life, fostering emotional, social, physical and cognitive growth, and research shows that a quality kindergarten education sets the stage for improved health, wellbeing, and greater educational and career opportunities in the future. The Nido Kindergarten Curriculum offers a rich and balanced program that builds essential skills and knowledge to ensure a smooth pathway into primary school and we are grateful to the South Australian Government for selecting Nido as a partner and for providing additional support and resources.

Our Kindergarten children at Nido Black Forest were a highlight of the day, proudly showcasing their learning and the programs they have been exploring in their classroom. One of those programs has taken inspiration from the major construction activity happening right across the road on South Road, sparking curiosity, conversation and a love of learning.

Each visitor received a hand-painted plant pot, lovingly decorated by our kindy children and planted with a beautiful plant to take home. A small but meaningful gift, and a memory of this day that will grow long after the cameras have gone.

A special acknowledgement to Cherese, our Executive Service Manager at Black Forest, who spoke on behalf of Nido and our sector today and to the wonderful local family whose child attends Black Forest, who shared their personal story at the announcement. Hearing directly from the families we serve is a powerful reminder of the real impact of this work.

To our team at Nido Early School Black Forest, your connection to this community and your dedication to every child in your care made today possible. We couldn’t be prouder.
