Dental Health Week: How We Promote Dental Hygiene at Nido
At Nido Early School, we recognise the importance of building healthy habits from a young age. Dental Health Week is a perfect opportunity to emphasise the significance of oral hygiene among our children. We are committed to creating a foundation for lifelong dental health, ensuring that our children develop positive relationships with dental care early on.
Throughout the year, Nido proudly conducts dental incursions across many of our early schools, bringing professional dental educators directly into our centres. These interactive sessions are designed to be engaging and informative, helping children understand the importance of brushing and flossing, as well as the role of a healthy diet in maintaining strong teeth and gums.
This year alone, over 20 of our early schools have hosted dental incursions, reaching hundreds of children. These incursions are tailored to suit the developmental stages of our students, making the learning process enjoyable and age appropriate. Children participate in hands-on activities, storytelling, and demonstrations, which not only educate but also alleviate any potential fears associated with dental visits.
By integrating dental health education into our curriculum and hosting these incursions, we aim to equip our children with the knowledge and confidence to take charge of their oral health, ensuring bright smiles for years to come.
